Researchers are in the process of developing a humanoid robot called Pibot that can fly a plane as well or even better than a human can.
Furthermore, it boasts both external and internal cameras to monitor its surroundings and control the equipment inside the plane.reported that the machine is equipped with a very large memory that allows it to memorize complex manuals presented in natural language, making it adaptable to different types of plane without the need of complex and time consuming training.
It has shown the unique ability to memorize all of the Jeppesen aeronautical navigation charts around the world. "Humans can fly many airplanes, but they do have these habits built into them. So when they try to convert to different airplanes they have to take another qualification. Sometimes this is not that simple because our habit remains in our mind that we can’t simply change from one to the other," Shim told“With the pilot robot, if we teach individual airplane configuration, then you can fly the airplane by simply clicking the airplane's type,” he added.
As next steps, the research team wants to implement its own natural language model so that Pibot can operate at the same levels of efficiency without an Internet connection, reportedPibot is a highly efficient and adaptable machine that could soon replace human pilots. Its ability to memorize manuals makes it so that it can be used on a variety of planes without any training. This is a task that no human can achieve.
Its development is part welcomed and part feared. From one perspective, it may increase safety in the skies but from another it will take away human jobs. However, despite any worries or concerns, the future is robotic and nothing can stop Pibot from being purchased and used by aircraft carriers around the world.

Researchers improve the performance of semiconductors using novel 2D metalTwo-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides (2D TMDs), especially MoS2, are at the forefront of new-generation 2D materials, and industrial-level efforts are being made to produce them at a large scale with reasonable performance for electronic device applications. Usually, for display applications, charge carrier mobility of 2 cm2/V.s is sufficient.
