Woman riding in an SUV wounded in Oakland shooting Sunday night.
OAKLAND — A 26-year-old woman riding in an SUV in East Oakland Sunday night suffered a graze wound to her head when someone began shooting at the vehicle from outside, authorities said.The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue, a mainly residential area.
Police said the woman was a passenger in an SUV with some other people when gunshots were fired from somewhere outside the vehicle. The rear window of the vehicle was shattered and the woman suffered a graze wound to her head from a bullet, authorities said. No one else was injured.Police have not determined a motive yet for the shooting and are still investigating whether the vehicle the woman was in was the actual target of the shooter.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $7,500 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
