3,000+ without power as snowstorm hits northern Utah; Expected to continue through late morning
Winter Weather Advisories are in place Saturday night through Sunday morning for most of northern and central Utah, and some areas have been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, which is more severe.WEATHER ALERTS: Check the latest warnings, watches and advisories in your area
NEW: A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Salt Lake & Tooele Valleys until 11am Sunday. A band of heavy snow will persist overnight with widespread accumulations up to six inches with locally higher amounts. Avoid travel tonight if possible! #utwx pic.twitter.com/McHjpxE1O5 Through the night, however, a cold front is expected to drop the snow levels to the valleys with about 1-4 inches possible. Mountain areas could see as much as 10 inches of snow.Rocky Mountain Power reported about 3,000 customers without power, mainly in the areas of Kearns and West Valley City.
