Chris Ward said his son Tyler 'demands' £500-£600 worth of items every month, leaving the family struggling to pay their bills, since deciding he doesn't want to attend school.
A "violent" 16-year-old with special needs, who has refused to go to school for over a year, is "rotting away in his bedroom", his parents fear.
His family claimed a staff member from the school visited their home in September 2021 to help get Tyler to attend. They said the staff member helped Tyler to get dressed and he agreed to go to school with her "within minutes". "He's getting more violent and more frustrated. He's only getting bigger and stronger; he's been violent for the past 10 years. If you don't do as he pleases all the time, he's like a volcano.
"We've been pleading and begging for months. Mine and his mum's health is bad. We really need a lot of help and we've got nothing. He's been left to rot at home and I just find it absolutely appalling.
