CLEARFIELD, Utah — A Clearfield couple was found dead in their garage Wednesday afternoon and police believe their 26-year-old grandson was responsible for the deaths.The grandson of the couple, Jeremy Belt, 26, was booked into jail on Tuesday and faces two counts of aggravated murder and one count of assault among other charges.
When responders arrived, a perimeter was made around the home and the daughter was escorted off the property. The investigation that followed gave officials probable cause to arrest Belt and after questioning, he admitted to police that he killed his grandparents, arresting documents state. Before being attacked, the two victims tried to leave the area, but Belt cut the motor wire for the garage door, trapping them inside.
