. However, Culverhouse disputed that UA's consideration of returning his donation was over demands on how the university should use the money, calling UA officials"liars."
"I don't want anybody to go to that law school, especially women, until the state gets its act together," Culverhouse said in an interview. Days later, he told other media outlets that the boycott should also extend to businesses in Alabama. The day before Culverhouse called for the boycott, University of Alabama System Chancellor Finis St. John sent an email to the Board with the recommendation that the university return the donation and rename the law school.
