The latest monthly Which? analysis found that the premium UK supermarket was not the priciest option for certain shoppers.
Sainsbury's has officially dethroned Waitrose as the most expensive supermarket as prices have been found to be higher for shoppers without a loyalty card.
The results of the latest findings looked at a large trolley of branded groceries at six major supermarkets - Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Aldi and Lidl were excluded as the discounters do not offer all the same products. However, while Sainsbury's dethroned Waitrose as the most expensive option for a larger shop, it did remain the priciest for a smaller shop of just 39 items.
