Two people have been rescued from a house fire in Oldham - latest updates
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said:
At around 6.45pm on Saturday 8 April, crews were called to reports of a fire at a home on Eric Street, Oldham. Four fire engines from Oldham, Hollins, Stalybridge and Mossley stations quickly attended the scene, where a fire had broken out in the kitchen of a terraced property. Firefighters rescued a man and a woman through an upstairs window, while a boy managed to get out of the property prior to crews’ arrival. All three are being assessed by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
“Fire crews remain in attendance, using breathing apparatus, hose reels, extension ladders and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.Both Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for further comment.There is currently a large emergency service response on Ronald Street in Oldham after reports of a house fire.
