She taught herself how to take photos and today operates a studio in Carlisle. Her advice? “Understand the harder the work, the better the reward.”
Bryan Majors has become something of a one-man business incubator and job creator, running a growing sports apparel business; a basketball training center and serving as a motivational coach and consultant aimed at helping people reach their potential.
A Harrisburg High graduate, Majors went on to be a four-year starter on Susquehanna University’s basketball team. He set the school’s career record for assists and parlayed that into a three-year career with the Harlem Globetrotters’ professional foils: The Washington Generals.
“My father and mother just instilled really, really strong morals, values and characteristics... not just on how to become successful, but on how to overcome being a young African-American male in the inner city, understanding the different stereotypes that you have to face, that you have to learn how to embrace and adjust through.
“So, the ability to be able to use my story, my journey, to provide hope to those who are hopeless and extra motivation to those who are already motivated is definitely where my satisfaction lies.”Photographer Aubrea Thompson operates ATV Studios in Carlisle.
