Tucker will be joined by Pasadena’s First AME Praise Team choir at the finale of the annual Colorado Boulevard spectacle.
Tanya Tucker will be last, but in no way least on Jan. 2, as the 2023 Rose Parade winds down.
The Grammy-Award-winning singer will be the grand finale of the 5.5-mile parade, performing her single, “Ready as I’ll Never Be.” According to the Tournament of Roses Association, which announced Tucker’s role on Wednesday, Dec. 21, Tucker will arrive at The Mansion Entertainment Group float on a Black Friesian horse. She’ll be joined by Pasadena’s First AME Praise Team choir for the performance of the song.
In between, she’s had 23 Top 40 albums and 56 Top 40 singles. Ten of those reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard country charts. The parade itself is anchored on the theme of “Turning the Corner,” the idea of rising above – alone, or with family, friends and community.Last New Year’s Day, it was Leann Rimes, who performed “Throw My Arms Around the World.”
