Rory McIlroy has made his position on LIV Golf clear after appearing to hint at the prospect of joining the Saudi Arabia-backed breakaway tour last month
Rory McIlroy has firmly shut down any rumours of him leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf. The Northern Irish golfer had previously hinted at possibly joining the Saudi Arabia-backed breakaway tour last month.
"It's not for me, I am too much of a traditionalist," McIlroy told ESPN. "I love winning golf tournaments and looking at the trophy and seeing Sam Sneyd won this trophy, or Ben Hogan, or Gene Sarazen, or Jack Nicklaus, or Gary Player, or Tiger Woods, or Nick Faldo, or whoever it is. The people that came before me. That to me is a big deal in our game."
But now, Rory McIlroy has made it clear in his latest chat that he won't be making a big move to LIV Golf. Yet, he does want the world's best golfers to play together more.
