A study has found that the Lake District has the most searches on YouTube for people wanting to catch a glimpse of its beauty and to inspire their adventures.
The region, which spans around 912-square miles, features a number of infamous passes, lakeside lanes and remote roads. Among the most popular road trip routes for tourists are the Keswick Loop via Buttermere and Borrowdale, Grasmere to Windermere, and Ambleside to Ullswater.The Coniston Loop is highly regarded as the most challenging route.
Tourists will pass through picturesque villages and small towns such as Buttermere, Rydal, Grasmere, Borrowdale, Gatesgarth and Ambleside. It is worth noting that some of these routes will test the skills of even the most experienced drivers and the route should be planned carefully, and preferably undertaken in clear and fine weather.
The Coniston Loop is certainly one to consider, with the 34-mile drive prefect for anyone wanting to look into the heart of the Lake District and its jaw-dropping brilliance. The data, which was compiled by vehicle leasing company Vanarama, ranked Snowdonia, home to Wales' highest mountain in second place and Scotland's North Coast 500 completes the top three.
