Ribble Valley planning applications including a new beauty salon, barn conversion and homes for over 55s

Each week, Lancashire's councils deal with a wide range of planning application ranging from small household extensions to major developments and changes to buildings of historical importance.

This week is no different, with developers hoping to open new stores and businesses as well as create more housing through the loss of pubs, restaurants and guest houses. As always, the plans are open to public consultation so affected residents and business owners can have their say by contacting the relevant local authority's planning department.

This week we took a look at some of the applications registered with and decided by Ribble Valley Borough Council. These include expansion plans for a dental surgery in Longridge, a new beauty salon in Clitheroe, new homes for over 55s in Mellor Book and a barn conversion in Ribchester.New beauty salon at property which has been empty for eight years

Chris Hickey of Hurst Green has submitted an application to convert 9a Castlegate in Clitheroe from residential accommodation into a beauty salon.
