Pundit and ex-striker Sutton is known for his outspoken comments in Scottish football and former Norwich playmaker Cantwell has now breathed new life into their bitter spat.
Todd Cantwell has labelled Chris Sutton as an "attention seeker" and can't understand why the former Celtic hero cannot focus on supporting his own team.
The former Carrow Road youth graduate is still on the sidelines at Ibrox as he steps up his recovery from injury but in an appearance on the Beautiful Game podcast, he lashed out at Sutton who he believes is trying to stay relevant in Scottish football with his outspoken views. "I can’t speak about what it’s like to be an ex footballer because I’m obviously still a current footballer. There’s one thing I can’t understand when it comes to pundits who used to play football which is jumping on players or what I would call what Chris Sutton does is being an attention seeker.
"For me, it’s not real. He’s playing up to his links with Celtic. He needs to stay relevant and that’s sad for me. If I’m an ex player and I’m tweeting a 25-year-old to stay relevant then I’d be saying ‘what am I doing’.
