Boris Johnson is in the Commons for Prime Minister's Questions, which promises to involve furious criticism following the publication of the Sue Gray report.A senior Conservative MP has given their reaction to Sue Gray's report to Sky News.The PM is about to face questions from Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer on the Gray report.
"[A] No 10 special adviser sent a message to Martin Reynolds by WhatsApp at 14.08 stating 'Drinks this eve is a lovely idea so I've shared with the E & V team who are in the office. Just to flag that the press conference will probably be finishing around that time, so helpful if people can be mindful of that as speakers and cameras are leaving, not walking around waving bottles of wine etc.', the report reads.
But with the cost of living crisis deepening, inflation rising and energy bills due to go up later in the year, Starmer will also use PMQs as an opportunity to reiterate his calls for a windfall tax on oil and gas companies and prove to the public he has their best interests at heart. Nonetheless the Labour leader is expected to be like a dog with a bone, relentlessly coming back to the prime minister's conduct during the pandemic, the culture he set in No10 and therefore whether he's still the right person to lead the country.Boris Johnson has been photographed reading the 37-page Sue Gray report this morning, ahead of the document being made public.
The senior civil servant says that the prime minister and advisers had a lengthy meeting in his office following a press conference before moving into the garden."The outdoor part of the meeting lasted for 40 minutes to an hour and they were briefly joined by the prime minister's wife, during which time the photograph was taken. "The prime minister remained in the garden until around 19.20.
