Alness station in the Highlands was locked down last night following the tragedy
Emergency services rushed to Alness railway station shortly before 8pm last night, following reports that a casualty had sustained serious injuries following the collision.British Transport Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
ScotRail confirmed the line was shut last night to allow emergency services to work but has since been re-opened this morning.
