New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday ordered the closure of hundreds of schools in New York City neighborhoods seeing surges in Covid-19 cases, but he and Mayor Bill de Blasio gave differing answers on whether nonessential businesses in the hot spots will also be closed.
Mr. Cuomo said at a press conference that he wouldn’t close nonessential businesses as Mr. de Blasio had previously requested he do. The governor said that his decision may change, but for now he called for more enforcement of public-safety measures in businesses...
