For Houston resident Jennyfer Herrington and her family, it's been a crushing few days. Hours after her daughter was involved in a hit-and-run crash, the pair stepped outside to find a concrete block had smashed the windshield of the daughter's rental.
Herrington said her daughter parked the car around 10 a.m., only to discover the damage a couple hours later.
"It just seems really bizarre," Herrington said."Surely, somebody's not just walking around, angry, ready to throw a concrete block at a car."but found few answers. Some speculated the block fell off a construction vehicle. Even if that's the case, it leaves unanswered questions about the angle the block hit the windshield at and who could be responsible.
"It's not even that my daughter has any enemies, but it's a rental car," Herrington said."Nobody would know it's not our personal vehicle or anything." Herrington says she's asked police to look at security camera footage around the area in hopes of discovering what happened. As of Thursday afternoon, a formal police report has not been completed.
