Kaya-Imaani Chambers, 18, from the Newlands area of the city died at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on May 23 after a six week battle with cancer.
The mum of a Glasgow teen who died after complaining of stomach pain is to set up a charity in her name to fund free MRI scans.
Doctors decided to keep her in hospital for a few days and give her a CT and MRI scan. On April 14, she received the devastating news that she had cancer and would need to begin treatment immediately. Doctors were unable to pinpoint what cancer Kaya had but it is believed to have started in her liver before spreading to her bones and lungs. Donna says that the teen was given immunotherapy and a daily tablet and had been initially responding well to treatment.
"It's been hard for everyone involved because we just didn't expect her to pass to quickly. She had her entire life ahead of her and was always a straight A student.
