Abbie Jarvis was lured into a skatepark in the Drumchapel area where she was booted in the head and kicked across her body during an awful attack that was filmed and shared on social media.
A Glasgow mum has slammed Instagram after the site failed to remove a horrifying clip of her autistic daughter's attack.
The beating - which left Abbie unconscious and in hospital for two days - was filmed by a group of around 10 onlookers and uploaded to social media. The incident sent shockwaves around the country and prompted the Daily Record to launch its Our Kids ... Our Future campaign to ensure the safety of children and young people in Scotland.
"It's really getting her down. She feels humiliated by it. I'm furious that Instagram is allowing these kids to be shown in their most vulnerable moments for laughs, likes and circulation." The young male can be seen putting the pupil into a chokehold before throwing her onto the ground and kicking her on the head. He then drags her by her hair across the floor as onlookers can be heard chanting: "Go, go!".
Angela added: "Not all children are involved, but some kids seem to be thriving off of watching clips like these. It is dangerous. Social media platforms must take it seriously and act now."
