A misdemeanor roundup held in the City of Glendale is giving some people the chance to start a new life, after having felt the negative impacts a warrant can have on their lives.
In an operation that some hope could help alleviate the homeless crisis, the City of Glendale launched an operation that is known as a 'misdemeanor roundup,' where people accused of minor crimes an opportunity to have their warrant dismissed. FOX 10's Brian Webb reports.The City Of Glendale is offering petty criminals a unique chance at a fresh start: a one-day window to clear any outstanding warrants for certain offenses.
The roundup took place at a city park in Glendale, with a command van serving as a courtroom of sorts. A judge was also present. At the roundup, anyone with a low-level offense, from a speeding ticket to a missed court date, can have their warrant dismissed, and re-start the clock on their legal troubles.
