Media Molecule has announced it is ending support for Dreams in September, and players will be getting a storage limit next month.
, the studio has explained that it’s “made the difficult decision to discontinue live support for Dreams after September 1, 2023 to shift our focus to an exciting new project”.
The game will also be migrating to a new server in late May, at which point players will be given a storage limit of 5GB for their creations.Players’ current creations will not count towards this limit – only those uploaded after the server migration will count towards their storage limit. It also says it’s working on an entirely new project, stressing: “We are not ready to talk about this yet, [but] we can confirm that it is not Dreams 2, or the Dreams IP.”
“Dreams has been a special project for Media Molecule and helping this burgeoning community of game developers, tinkerers, creatives, collaborators and dreamers grow and express themselves remains one of the best things we’ve ever done.
