A deputy jumped into the water to help the woman, who was trying to escape someone trying to rob her as she jogged along the waterfront, authorities said.
Earlier information from the Harris County Sheriff's Office indicated that the woman jumped into the water, and when deputies arrived, one jumped into the water to help her.
After speaking to officials again, ABC13 has learned that the woman was indeed jogging up top on the sidewalk area and claimed she was robbed. But rather than intentionally jumping into the water, the woman ran down steps to the lower level closer to the bayou to get help and that's when she fell into the water.Officials used a flotation device to pull the jogger out of the bayou.An ambulance was called out of precaution.ABC13 has a crew looking into this developing story.
