We Tried Lancashire Sauce, Black Pudding and English Mustard, Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper and the Sweet Chilli flavours of Lancashire Crisps
Lancashire is well-known for its incredible produce, homegrown in the fields, farms and green space that cover our pleasant land.
Fiddler's Lancashire Crisps were introduced in 2011 with small batches hand-cooked in sunflower oil by John Fiddler, his brother or his dad. Clearly popular with consumers, the company stocks to farm shops and North West-based supermarket Booths. When I visited, there was an offer for two bags for £4, so it would have been rude of me not to partake. However, if you'd prefer a smaller bag, all eight flavours are also available at the front of the shop to go along with a meal deal to take away.
Distinctly flavoured, the Lancashire Sauce crisps are like no other flavour you may have tried from other brands. The sauce itself is made from a secret recipe, with a mild spice that is versatile and unforgettable. In the smaller packets, I opted for the Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper, as well as the Sweet Chilli options. The former is a classic done well by other brands, but the Lancashire version holds its own.
