Fake designer goods worth around £50,000 have been seized after a raid at an address in West Lancashire.
More than 1,300 items of counterfeit clothes and trainers were seized, including around 1,000 pairs of fake Nike and Adidas trainers and Ugg boots. They also recovered several hundred garments and bracelets bearing counterfeit North Face, Berghaus, Hugo Boss, Moncler and Cartier trademarks.Those involved are believed to have earned tens of thousands of pounds from selling the fakes as genuine items on the internet. Investigations are continuing and no arrests were reported.
"Trading Standards received 360 complaints in 2023 about counterfeit toys, perfume, tobacco, alcohol and clothing, from concerned residents and genuine traders. We wish to create a level playing field for honest Lancashire retailers who sell genuine goods.
