Meghan Markle will remain in California with her Lilibet and Archie while Prince Harry attends his father's Coronation
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were reportedly "concerned" over the Duchess of Sussex's safety if she attended the historical crowning of King Charles at the Coronation next month.
Royal historian Tessa Dunlop has now revealed that the couple were concerned about the public's potential reaction to Meghan, given that it would be difficult to predict following months of controversy surrounding the couple and a growing family rift. The comments come following reports that Harry is expected to dash off following the crowning, and not stay for the weekend of celebrations, as he is suspected to do everything in his power to make it back to the US following the 11am ceremony for his son's fourth birthday.
Buckingham Palace previously confirmed his attendance in a statement, saying: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
