“Everybody was counting on me,” said Skrobarcek, who is committed to play at Texas A&M. “I was nervous in the first set, and then I started to play my game. My serve and forehand were my weapons, and I was patient. I think my heart definitely helped me through the whole match.” Last year, Skrobarcek earned a slot in the state championship by winning a regional playback match after taking third place. He advanced to the semifinals of the state event at Northside.
