People gearing up for holidays this year need to know the different passport rules of different airlines before they fly including Jet2, Ryanair, TUI, easyJet and British Airways.
Jet2 When you're flying to another country, you need to show a passport or a national ID card that's still valid. If you're flying inside your own country and you're 16 or older, you have to show an up to date photo ID. It may be wise to have a passport with you on such flights in case staff raise issues.
Ryanair If you're travelling abroad with Ryanair, you must have a valid passport. For travel outside the EEA , the passport must be valid for the period of the intended stay, except for the below countries. UK passport holders travelling into a Schengen member country as of 1 January 2021 must make sure that their passport:
The UK Government recommends that on the day you travel you have at least six months left on your passport. Anything less than this may see you face issues at the border. To go to Europe, you must have a minimum of three months left on your passport from the day you're planning to travel home. Photographic ID is required on all domestic flights. Children under the age of 16 do not need to show ID on domestic flights . The adult they are travelling with can vouch for the infant's/child's identity. Children under 14 on Italian domestic flight must show photographic ID.
Citizens of the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland may travel within Europe using a valid EU/EEA/Swiss National Identity Card or Passport Card.
