Prosecutors applied a terrorism sentence enhancement that would inflate the sentence of Leo Brent Bozell IV, of Palmyra, by 14-fold.

Screenshots provided by the Federal Bureau of InvestigationFederal prosecutors are asking for the son of a conservative media activist from Palmyra to be shut away in prison for 11 years and 8 months for his “proactive role” in the Jan. 6 riots.

“Might be our last chance to assemble and stand for our country, our freedom, and our children,” Bozell said in the days leading up to the rally. Bozell believed the 2020 election had been stolen, based on erroneous information — that people “sat in the convention center filling out ballots until Biden won,” and said patriots should be “ready” to respond.

At trial, Bozell testified he was trying to “help” the police officers and that he smashed the windows of the Capitol Building because he was angry that the situation was deteriorating so quickly. He said he roamed through the Capitol Building for an hour because he was trying to find his mother. Leo Brent Bozell as seen in footage from the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
