Shane Loughlin, 32, was today jailed for dangerous driving in the hours before he was a passenger in the crash that claimed the lives of three people.
A man who admitted dangerous driving in the hours before he was involved in a fatal car crash as a passenger has been jailed. Three people were killed when a Volkswagen Tiguan veered off the A48 on the outskirts of Cardiff in the early hours of March 4.
After a previous hearing, Loughlin was charged with drink driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance after being found to be over the limit in the early hours of September 2. The court heard today that the March 4 crash received nationwide attention after the Tiguan veered off the A48 and crashed into woodlands at around 2am. After the vehicle's occupants were reported missing, cops found the car on the morning of March 6
In the second clip, he is again seen inhaling nitrous oxide while recording and, at one point, takes the balloon from his mouth, leaving no hands on the wheel. The third clip showed the car travelling at 90mph with a tyre warning visible, and the fourth video again shows Loughlin driving without any hands on the wheel.
