Eurovision 2023 semi-final 1 is live from Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena
Fifteen countries will participate in the first semi-final of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, live from Liverpool.
Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham and Julia Sanina will host the semi-final on Tuesday, May 9 at the M&S Bank Arena. The best 10 countries from semi-final 1 will qualify for the Grand Final. To mark the start of the Eurovision Song Contest, semi-final 1 will open with host Julia performing part of ‘Маяк’ by her band The Hardkiss. The interval sees Rita Ora deliver a medley of some of her biggest hits and the world exclusive of her new single Praising You.And Ukrainian singer Alyosha – who represented Ukraine in Eurovision 2010 – will perform alongside Liverpool singer-songwriter, Rebecca Ferguson.
