WASPI women have been campaigning for compensation for years
The Women Against State Pension Inequality campaign has received a new boost ahead of the Autumn Budget being delivered next Wednesday, October 30. WASPI was set up after women born in the 1950s were told at short notice the age at which they could retire was going up.
When new chancellor Rachel Reeves delivers her first Budget next week, it is anticipated she will make some "difficult decisions" on tax, spending and benefits - and it looks unlikely that WASPI payouts will be a priority. In a new update on Friday, WASPI shared that they've received the backing of independent West Derby MP Ian Byrne.
