TheApprentice winner Marnie Swindells recalls childhood trauma after dad's death aged 8
The Apprentice 2023 winner Marnie Swindells has opened up about the death of her dad when she was just eight years old, and how the traumatic time has aided her success.
Marnie’s dad was only 47 when he died and, while the 28 year old didn’t share his cause of death, she said it was an accident. She went on: "He died on a Tuesday and on the Friday night I played Sandy in Grease and was up on stage singing and dancing. My mum is very tough, and she said it's happened now, and we have to carry on.
After growing up in Manchester, Marnie became interested in boxing at the age of 17 when she was looking for something to channel her anger over losing her dad suddenly.
