'These actions are bang out of order and will not be tolerated'
A Bonfire Night warning has been issued after last year's chaos across Greater Manchester - with emergency crews attacked, cars set ablaze and fireworks launched through letterboxes.
GMFRS will be working with Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service 'to ask for the public’s help in preventing incidents'. Fire crews were also called to reports of wheelie bins, trees and playground equipment being set alight, as they also responded to an allotment set ablaze by a rogue firework in Reddish, a pile of rubbish and leaves set on fire in Failsworth and a garden shed fire in Bolton.
"I remind people that there is clear legislation in place to protect all our emergency workers, and we will pursue prosecution for anyone who seeks to attack our staff, which can result in a prison sentence.”
