The third major Northampton fire in three days
Fire crews from as far as Daventry and Corby were called into Northampton on Tuesday, June 28, after a huge fire broke out in Northampton. Eight fire engines attended the blaze at the Network Rail Depot in Cotton End.
The fire started in a storage building shortly before 6.40pm. Electricity supplies to homes were disconnected while firefighters were tackling the flames with St Leonards Road, London Road, West Cotton Close and Pomfret Close all closed to traffic. Thanks to the amazing work of Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire was finally brought under control at around 9.30pm. A spokesperson from the fire service said:"Thank you for your patience and co-operation during this incident.We understand this has caused inconvenience to residents and road users, however, your support, as always, is appreciated."
