Jamie Aitchison, 20, was reported missing after vanishing from the Bathgate area on Tuesday night.
Tributes have been paid to a young Scots man with an "infectious smile" after he was found dead in West Lothian.
Step-sister Emily Knox said: “Blood doesn’t determine a sibling, it’s family and love that does. Growing up I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by brothers including my two step-brothers, Jamie and Bailey, with Jamie being my older brother. I’m absolutely heartbroken to lose a boy I considered my brother, and even more so when realising our youngest brother Oscar will grow up without you.”
Francis Mahon said: “Another life taken far too young. Jamie Aitchison, a boy who was a great character, a heart full of love and a smile that could light up any room. Absolutely saddened by your passing and my thoughts are with your mum Ronnie and all the family at this time. Until we meet again, rest easy.”
