Delilah had experienced persistent bloating

A young mum has died after initially believing abdominal pains caused by aggressive bowel cancer were symptoms of IBS.

Doctors then told the 28-year-old she had stage four bowel cancer. Speaking to LancsLive at the time, she said: "I've had bloating throughout my whole adult life so I thought it was just IBS or something but it would not go away. Then I was getting pains in my back and sharp pains in my abdomen which was stopping me from being a mum."Sadly, Delilah passed away on New Year's Eve.

"Delilah cared for everyone and everything and hated the idea that others would be sad at her passing. As her mother I have always said that what she was going through, and what ultimately she lost, was most definitely her tragedy. She added: "Supporting a little known mental health organisation in Delilah's name carries on her belief that everyone matters. RightLines specialises in supporting people who self harm which is a little understood but very common feature of mental health. Delilah felt very strongly that the most vulnerable and sometimes the least visible people should be be protected."
