Xi3 has opened pre-orders for its gaming-optimized PC, the Piston , which was originally intended to be a 'Steam Box' console. The $999.99 price tag includes a 128GB SSD , a quad-core AMD processor, and 8GB of RAM.
Customers can upgrade the SSD to 256GB or 512GB for an additional cost. The Piston is not meant to compete with PlayStation and Xbox, but offers a combination of console form factor and computer gaming rig upgradeability.
