Mayor Michelle Wu announced today a 23-member advisory committee tasked with delivering recommendations for ways Boston can limit increasing rents.
Boston is taking another step toward"rent stabilization."
Rent stabilization is highly controversial, Kemeny said at the Roxbury press conference where Wu made the announcement. But he added it can be defined in many ways.While some advocates for landlords say rent limits would inhibit housing production, others say it could be done in a way that doesn't cut into future development.
