TikTok’s boss has a message for the Biden administration and Congress: A sale won’t resolve America’s national-security concerns over the popular video app
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, said at a Thursday news conference that the U.S. should stop spreading false information and suppressing foreign companies. “The U.S. hasn’t been able to prove with evidence that TikTok threatens U.S. national security,” he added.
TikTok is at a crossroads, as U.S. concerns about its Chinese ownership grow. Some officials have explored the idea of forcing a sale to a U.S. company. WSJ explains the challenges of making that happen.
