The World Cycling Championships has been halted after protestors 'glued themselves on the road'. Organisers have been forced to stop the men's road race after the protestors blocked a narrow stretch of the B818 in the Carron Valley area at around 11.20 am.
The 271-kilometre men's elite road race was stopped on a small climb around 192 kilometres before the finish in Glasgow. Unconfirmed reports have suggested that at least one protestor has glued or cemented themselves to the road.It is believed that time gaps will be written down and race will restart when the road is clear.A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We’re aware of a protest in the Carron Valley area. Officers are currently in attendance and engaging with protesters.
