A holidaymaker who attempted to sue TUI has been told by a judge having a ‘wet bum’ would not be enough to bring her £100,000 compensation claim.
Karen Carey, 64, tried to sue TUI for more than £100,000 after a fall which shattered her right ankle
She was eating breakfast at the H10 Taburiente Playa Hotel when she fell on her bottom after her feet gave way beneath her as she walked towards the fruit juice bar in January 2016. ‘Mrs Carey’s shorts could have been wet for any number of reasons [after her fall] and that is not enough on which to found liability.’
