The victim, a woman in her 60s, was walking her dog when she was approached by an unknown male
A woman was sexually assaulted by a hooded man in a field whilst out walking her dog. Police received report of the sexual assault near Smallshaw Lane in Ashton-under-Lyne at around 4.30pm on Monday .
Specialist officers are currently supporting the victim, with an investigation now underway to identify the male. There will be an increased officer presence in the local area over the coming days, police added.Detective Superintendent Richard Hunt said: "Our specialist officers are supporting the victim at this time and we want to do all we can to locate the offender.
"It is believed that another member of the public was in the field at the time of the assault. If you believe you are this person, please do get in touch as you may be able to help us with our investigation.
