On Thursday morning, rescue teams were called to a section of the river at Shaw's Bridge following reports that a kayaker had got into difficulties. She had become pinned against one of the arches of the bridge.
A Rescue 3 Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Technician had been close to the scene at the time of the incident and was able to help the woman until emergency services arrived and she was brought to safety.K9 Search and Rescue NI said: "This this morning one of our Rescue 3 Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Technicians was in the right place at the right time.
