Dozens of emergency service vehicles attended the scene with the casualty being transported to hospital under escort
Emergency services were called to the docks just after 7.15pm following reports of an incident in the water. Once emergency services from Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service and coastguard arrived at the scene near Revolution de Cuba they found a woman had fallen into the water.
An ambulance under police escort was seen heading along The Strand from the Albert Dock using blue lights. There were around a dozen emergency service vehicles at the scene at the height of the incident. One woman said: “It was crazy, we were just walking along and all these cars and vans with blue lights started pulling up just on the bridge. They got out and went straight into the inside of the docks.
