A woman was arrested and charged with money laundering after being pulled over for a traffic violation in Fayette County Tuesday.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said 36-year-old Guadalupe Martinez was pulled over on I-10 near Flatonia around 10:43 a.m.
Martinez told the deputy that she was driving a rental car but was not able to provide the paperwork to prove it.Noticing that something was off, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle. He found a bag on the floor with multiple wrapped bundles inside. The bundles contained around $188,000 in cash.
