Manchester City saw a £47m offer for Nunes rejected this week as Pep Guardiola spies midfield reinforcement.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil says Matheus Nunes fully understands the stance of his club after a £47m bid from Manchester City was rejected, but understands why the midfielder would want a move to the Etihad.
It’s thought that a deal for either is unlikely given the lack of time for Wolves and Palace to find ample replacements. City are having to deal with losing Kevin De Bruyne for four months due to a recurring injury. “I’d have loved to have had him available . He’d have been fine. He’s a focused boy who understands so I’d much rather have him available than not.”
