Wokingham Borough Council plans less bin collections to save cash
The council says it could save up to £1.8m per year from 2026 if the changes are brought in
Wokingham Borough Council intends to keep weekly food waste collections but move to less frequent general rubbish and recycling bin collection. "If we continue collections as they are now, an additional £500,000 per year would be needed on top of the £5m waste service budget. If we make the changes, we could save up to £1.8m per year, depending on which option we choose," he said.
