Wish release date, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Disney's new movie
Disney's Wish story: What will be Wish about?is set in the magical Kingdom of Rosas, visually inspired by the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula.
The story follows Asha, an idealistic 17-year-old girl who wants to become the king's apprentice to learn how to make people's wishes come true. However, the powerful sorcerer King Magnifico is far from the fair and charming ruler everybody think he is. Asha discovers what becomes of her community's wishes and makes a plea to the stars. What she didn't expect was an answer that will change everything.
"We have been inspired by so many iconic films over Disney Animation's 100 years, especially stories where we explore the power of someone with a wish, combined with the conviction to make that wish come true," co-director Fawn Veerasunthorn said in a"Being able to honour that legacy with this incredible story and these amazing characters has been a joy for our entire team.
"It's not: make a wish and it's granted. There's this concept that work matters, and that the failure that comes with pursuing your dreams is as important as the success. For a lot of us, this movie was also about that, and how do we make it relevant to our kids too, to have that hope to drive us through hard times."
