Wiregrass native Katie Britt one step closer to congress after win over congressman Mo Brooks
DOTHAN, Ala. - Enterprise native Katie Britt has defeated Huntsville congressman Mo Brooks in the Republican run-off primary.
Despite the move by the former president, Brooks continued to push for the endorsement once he made the runoff. Trump, however, would choose Britt instead. It’s unlikely the endorsement played much into the race. Britt is the former chief of state for Senator Richard Shelby. Shelby opted not to seek re-election. First elected in 1986 as a Democrat, Shelby would eventually change parties and has been a key figure in the Republican party ever since.
